I recently acquired a UBCD3600XLT, so it takes a lot of figuring out and learning. (I enjoyed the UBC125XLT before this, but wanted to be able to do more. DMR NXDN.)

I have been involved in the scanner world for 1 year now, when I was little I always listened to the police and fire brigade (But that is no longer possible in the Netherlands because of the P2000 system).

I live in the Netherlands, and here we have supermarkets where the staff use walkie-talkies to communicate with each other.
Since the UBCD3600XLT has a recording function, I went to the store this week with the scanner set to recording and listened to the recordings at home.
However, I mainly hear a kind of faded sound. Some speech can be recognized, but it is unclear. It seems encrypted/scrambled?

Is there a way to find out, or to set the scanner so that it is fully audible/intelligible?

Here you can listen to the recording that i have made: 2024-08-04_15-45-18.wav

Sounds like voice inversion scrambling to me. Welcome to the site and to scanning. Your scanner will not be able to decode the audio if it's indeed voice inversion.

Regards Richard

Thank you.
So at this point, i need to go there with my Quansheng UV K5 (8) and use the scrambling option.
See if that picks something up.

(Always fun to get it to work)
