Good morning from North Carolina everyone.....

I have a UTAH guy who is trying to get into the Unication G5 world and just bought a G5 from me. He asked me to program this information in, but I'm being led to believe it may not work as its not P25 yet: System:7202, site:4 TG:45536, 46272, 17184, 19744, 17696.

Anyone here using a Unication G5 off of the Big Mountain site? I want to do the right thing and let him cancel the sale if this isn't going to work for him. Thanks in advance!

We are in the process of converting to p25 700mhz, some sites are online already, but the system isn't live yet. The 800 mhz system 7202 u speak of is Motorola analog for now with APCO p25 only on certain talkgroups, mostly the encrypted ones but not all of them are encrypted. The majority of the system is analog. I'm not familiar with the unication G5 receiver or radio to help, but this gives u some info. At this time the new system coming online is either going to be phase 1 or phase 2 digital p25...

That was me buying the G5. Just looking for something smaller to carry rather than my chunky SDS100 or 436HP. Every time I pick up my BCT396XT, I start dreaming someone will make a small scanner again. The G5 looks like it might do the trick, but I'm going to have to be patient. It appears from googling, that the G5 can do analog conventional, but not smartnet or smartzone 3600 analog trunking. A bit of a disappointment, but at least I can use it for keeping track of the P25 system as it comes up.

The G5 is not capable of trunk tracking Motorola Type II systems. It is excellent on 700/800 MHz P25 simulcast trunked systems. You are limited to monitoring one system and one site at a time. Each knob position can hold up to 64 talkgroups.

So, with a total of 8 positions, you're saying it's 8 x 64 total?
