Uhf 460.200 Who???

I was monitoring my scanner the other night when I heard what I thought was my local police, not really paying attention.
Then I thought they seemed scratchy, and I noticed the pl search I had going at the time had dcs 073.
Anyone know who is on 460.200 with a dcs 073???
Sounded like Law enforcement.

Rockingham County, Virginia Sheriff's Office uses this frequency with a DCS of 072. Nothing else in KY,NC,TN, or SC comes close. Is it possible due to reception that your radio gave you the wrong tone?

Thanks Samuel for your reply. But I have 2 scanners and both gave me DCS 073. It is possible of your explanation so I don't discredit you in any way and I thank you for the information you supplied to me.

I checked the entire database but there isn't anything listed on that frequency with DCS073.

OK, now that I put my glasses on I see the DCS is 743 for 460.200. I guess I should have used them before.
Anyway, any clues to who this is now?

There isnt anything listed in the radio reference database for adjoining states or TN with that matchup. Several listings for the frequency however and its possible an agency changed its tone. Are you able to copy any addresses or other geographical information?

The 460.20000 Is a local police dept here in Bergan County NJ. I will have to pay more attention to see if the DCS 073 comes up as well. Not sure if it helps but thought it was interesting so figured I would add to the post.

The OP is in Newport, Tennessee and its not likely even with a band opening that the propagation would traverse that far from NJ to his regional area.
