UHF and VHF call being crossband repeated

Anyone notice that 446 and 146.52 are being repeated on one another? I'm in Manhattan, a station I contacted in Brooklyn said the source must be close to him out there. Started at least before 1pm, still going as of 3pm.

Hey man, I thought it was quirky. Also passed on a lot of illegible 2m traffic from the distance to 70cm, which is usually pretty hit or miss in the city in terms of getting through.

Last I checked never seen a rule that forbids doing what is done. Ive heard the same in other parts of the country. Anyway go on and use radios. disregard wierd info.

The "rule" is that there is a bandplan. If someone disregards the bandplan and there is a complaint, the FCC will come down on the side of everyone else.
