UHF Milsat 263.810

I'm testing out a UHF preamp and when tuning across the transponders I found an odd signal. It is on the far left of the transponder's bandwidth circled in red

Sounds like distorted voice and music. It is definitely coming through the transponder. Whenever a legit mil digital transmission starts you can see it suck up all of the transponder power and the mystery signal drops out.

BTW, if anyone hears Brazilian pirates today, post up the frequencies.

English speakers on 255.500. Just chatting and advising on audio received. My RX of them is weak and hard to make out conversation.

....and they're finished at 12:14 Pacific....and now some guys speaking Spanish.

Uhh...okay these guys are throwing out their amateur radio callsigns now so....disregard. Audio cleared up as I didn't have my 225-400 MHz filter inline on the SDRPlay receiver.

I'm not hearing simplex as the signal level remains the same. Just not sure what repeater I am hearing. What is interesting is the repeater has not sent its callsign. Hmm...I looked up one of the operators and he definitely is into satellite communication ( W6MU ).

I used to monitor this band quite often, but after a while you get tired of listening to drunk south Americans, russians and the god awful never ending war propaganda. Wish i knew about it back in the 90`s early 00`s when there probably were something interesting going on there. However analog tv was transmitting there then so we completely ignored it.
