• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Sent in my request on 10/14/19, and received the new battery today 10/19/19! Pretty fast service----hats off to Unication for making the process so easy.
Oddly I purchased a second battery from them about 10 months ago, to have as a back-up, and it was Li-ion, just like the one I received today.

Yep, they switched from Li-Polymer sometime late 2017 and started shipping (or replacing defective packs) with Li-Ion since. So anything bought new since late 2017 or newer should be Li-Ion now.
There were a few posts last year I think where users having issues with their Li-Po cells were being given free Li-Ion cells by Unication but it was not a Recall at that time.

Just received my replacement battery in the mail today and installed it in my G5.

It's charging as I write this . . . thanks, Unication!

Submitted my request on 10/17/19. Received it today. Great turn around time. They sent mine postage due? It was only $3.44. Not complaining. Just surprised.

If you haven't check your Unication battery, DO IT! You'll see why in a minute. I checked the G5 I use all the time & yup, it was an Li P04battery. Took the picture, filled out the form and sent it off to Unication. On the second G5, I noticed it was very difficult to remove the screws. I was backing each one out a little bit at a time, then.......POW, the battery cover blew off the back of the radio! How that battery fit into the compartment is beyond me. It was TWICE as thick as the other battery. Filled out another replacement request. IMG_6113.JPG

That reminds me of a Blackberry battery i had back in the day. I was scared it was going to pop just prying it out of the compartment.

I was mistaken. My postage due was only $2.44. Unication actually emailed me about my post. There isn’t supposed to be postage due. They were confused about the postage due also and offered to reimburse me. I wasn’t upset about the postage due. I would pay $2.44 for a new battery all day long. I have been very impressed with Unications customer service and products.

I'm with you. I wouldn't ask them to reimburse me either. I've dealt with Unication numerous times (not for any quality issues), and they've always gone far above and beyond. Add to that the rock-solid quality product they sell, and it's a pretty unique experience in today's world.
