Unication G4 STARCOM 21 results

I recently purchased the Unication G4 pager and received it on Saturday 12/29/17 and finally having it programmed and up and running with much work put in the project and yes disappointment. Project completed Sunday 12/31/17 @ approximately 14:00 hours. But, after scrapping everything saved and starting all over again the G4 finally has been programed and now working flawlessly and not missing transmissions whatsoever. Many thanks for the help over on the Unication forum and thanks again for all your help everyone I really appreciated it.

Monitoring the STARCOM 21 state system and now have towers sites 115, 149 and 101 programmed with very good results all day and noted signal strength fluctuating between three and four bars on all sites. Transmissions clear and not breaking up. Had all the Unidens on with the G4 side by side and noticed many transmission missed on all Uniden models and these radios now shut down and retired to fire tone out and conventional use status in the future as this is the better radio to monitor such. Sorry Uniden I’m done with your products on digital trunked simulcast systems and still can't figure out the problems with the latest digital trunking scanners and jumped the fence to Unication monitor side with very good P25 trunking results. Uncation bring on the TDMA and make this a better TDMA/FDMA monitor.

Finally my location being in Buffalo Grove, in the Lake/Cook County border at Lake Cook and Route 83 Cook county most northerly border and Lake Counties most southern border.

I have a G5 coming soon. The holidays messed with the shipping. I have been busy learning the PPS software and programing it. I too have received help here. An investment of time is mandatory. But after some confusion I seem to have it down pretty well. Learning it is half the fun of the hobby. I am using just the scan mode. No alerts or tones. As I said this is just a hobby to me. The TRX 2 has been sitting aside of me while I work. The thing never sounded better. I think this super cold weather helps with my distortion issues. If I like the G5 I'll be making an investment in the cradle with speaker thingy.

Hope you enjoy it after the numerous hours you may setting this radio up. Very nice sound on this radio and doesn't miss transmissions like the Uniden models. They are now retired to the fire tone out and conventional scanning. Happy New Years and enjoy your new radio.
