I am in the process of programing a new BCD536HP for most of the appropriate city/county/other selected radio systems in Virginia. ARC536PRO is used to import the appropriate 996XT files data and subsequently create the appropriate FL radio system(s). I've finished 40 FLs and have 60 to go. Currently there are no P25 Phase 2 (TDMA) trs signals within my monitoring range. The Caroline Co. Phase 1/Phase 2 trs will be the first in central VA when it becomes operational sometime in the future.

My programming is going well using ARC536PRO to create new FLs but when I had to enter the appropriate trs "System Type" for "Pittsylvania Co." I was not certain what was the appropriate entry. Possible choices included: "New Motorola", "New (Standard) P25" and "New X2 TDMA". I selected "New X2 TDMA" but again I was not 100% sure it was correct. Of course, there was no discussion in the user's manuaI regarding the subject and I didn't want later to have to revisit all VA P25 Phase 2 trs and make appropriate corrections.

Can someone who has used a BCD536 to successfully monitor "Pittsylvania Co". and/or "Loudoun Co." post the appropriate BCD536 "System Type" entry for a trs using P25 Phase 2?

Thanks.

Should be "New (Standard) P25", although I'm not sure what "new" has to do with it since P25 systems have always been the same scanner-wise.

I checked in Sentinel, and the closest selection there is "P25 X2 TDMA" which I'm assuming means P25 TDMA or X2 TDMA since there is no such thing as P25 X2. So maybe you made the correct selection and they forgot to include P25 TDMA in that tag.

What is Pittsylvania Co.'s P25 Phase 2 trs System Type?

Reading the RR Wiki Project 25 info "X2 TDMA" is a unique Motorola "System Type" which is correct for Loudoun Co. but it is my understanding Pittsylvania Co. has a Harris P25 Phase 1/Phase 2 trs. I doubt Harris would use a Motorola "System Type" but I could be mistaken.

Has anyone monitored the Pittsylvania Co. Harris Phase 1/Phase 2 trs using a Uniden BCD436 or 536 and can post the appropriate "System Type"?

Here is the RR Wiki Project P25 discussion link:

Loudoun is regular Phase II now, not X2.

I believe both systems can be programmed as either P25 Trunk or P25 X2 TDMA.

I have Pittsylvania programmed as P25 Trunk since I copied it from the DB. I've listened to it while in Danville and at VIR.

My Loudoun system is programmed as X2 since it used to be. I never changed it to P25 Trunk and it works fine.

Tnx for the reply.

From what I read "X2 TDMA" was an interim Project 25 TDMA standard created by Motorola because Project P25 TDMA standards had not been formalized at the time Motorola wanted to sell their P25 Phase 2 capable trs.

Based on that and your experiences I decided to use "New P25 Standard " "System Type" for all programed Phase 2 capable trs and hope it works.

Tnx again for your experiences.
