Uniden 796d PC Control

Is there a trick to getting the PC control to work on the 796d? I've hooked it up to several computers and I get the Communications Problem message. I've checked the Baud rates and the comm ports seem to be working.

I have no problem. Settings I have are 57600 bps COM 2 and BC796D. What software are you using? The only way I get that error is if something else is running on that COM port.

I am using the supplied software. I will check to see if the port is being used. Thanks

I'm also using the supplied software and some that I wrote. Watch out for PDA's, etc. They hold the port all the time.
