BC125AT: Uniden Close Call Mode

Newbie question regarding Close Call Mode. I scoured the threads but could not find a definitive answer. Radio is a BC125AT. What is the difference between Close Call Mode and standard searching? I ask because when in search mode, I do get hits in various bands, especially aviation bands from Charlotte airport. Bit in CC mode I get nothing even after leaving the radio in CC mode for a couple hours. Yes I have all bands set to ON in the CC sub-menu. I know the radio is analog only but shouldn't I get something somewhere?

Close Call mode is for detecting transmissions very close to you

Standard searching basically stops on anything that is receivable, not just very close to you.

I highly recommend bookmarking the easier to read manual, each function is explained in simple terms there:

Close Call RF Capture Technology - lets you set the scanner so it detects and provides information about nearby radio transmissions. Close Call 'Do-not-Disturb' checks for Close Call activity in between channel reception so active channels are not interrupted.

Service Search lets you quickly select and search the scanner's preprogrammed frequencies.

Custom Search lets you search the scanner's 10 programmed frequency ranges. See Editing a Custom Search first.

usually about a hundred feet or less. it also depends on the transmitter.
