With the recent price increases on Uniden scanners, it's nice to see that Ham Radio Outlet is currently running a sale on the following 3 Uniden scanner models until 01-31-2024. The HomePatrol-2 offers the greatest savings of the 3 models below:

A little over a year ago I bought an HP-2 from Main Trading Company... This is what I paid for it... At that price I jumped on it...

I tried that Amazon 325p2. Order went through, then a couple days later it was cancelled and money refunded. Reason said undeliverable. Just had an Amazon order delivered the day prior so I know that’s BS. I then ordered from HRO.

Mine came just fine when I bought it. Had a bad experience with the TRX-1 through them. I was sent a dud that wouldn't work on batteries, only when plugged in. Simply returned it for a refund and went back to Uniden after deciding that I didn't like the TRX-1. The 325 was the way to go.

also, i heard rumors if you try to buy a Uniden scanner or whistler sometimes the manufacturer will not and I repeat will not accept a warranty card to get it repaired.

So currently i set up a watch list for Amazon as I like Amazon and so do many, i will go from lowest to highest and i will share my spreadsheet and pricing info as of today.

1. bc355N around $89 with free shipping on Prime went up last 12 months to around $9 dollars
2.bc365crs $101.00 went up $10 over 12 months
3. BC 75 xlt, I'm going off of 3 prices, uniden $100..00 plus shipping and tax, amazon $125 at one time, and eBay $60 to $75 if you don't care for a warranty.

4. uniden 30C $120.00 was around $20.00 less last 12 months
5. uniden 125at $120.00 was around $104.00 last 12 months
6.bct15x around $172.00 was $162.00 12 months ago
7.bcd325p2 $449.00 12 months ago cheapest was $329.99
8.bcd996p2 $$443.00 last 12 months i seen it around $339.00
9. bcd 436 $549.99 cheapest last 12 months was $419.99
10.BCD 536 $649.99
11. sds 100 $649.99
12.sds 200 $699.99

now let's just add the competitor for posterity.

1. whistler 1010, amazon sold out or discontinued last month, no price, was $80 was cheapest
2. whistler 1025 is currently $112.00 cheapest in the last 12 months $104.00
3. whistler 1040 again sold out price was $299.00 then jumped to $349.99 to $399.99
4.whistler 1065 was also $299 and jumped to $352 or higher
5. whistler trx 1 $649.99 last 12 months was $549.99
6. whistler trx 2 sold out was around $499.00 12 months ago and went up in price now sold out

so I do think prices are slowly rising as I saw it in the video game world, prices go up and way up then you find out the product is either sold out or discontinued.

now in my opinion a sds 100 and a 436 is the same price, think about that one, lol

prices could be up because of inflation or the fact some states raised the minimum wage, or cola for social security beneficiaries or it could be people are being taxed more for everything they buy, it's a question of why did it go up. I have seen prices go up also to offset the Christmas spirit time, a company raises prices because they lost money at Christmas time or holiday time.

As a price comparison... it is amazing how much the price has gone up.

These are some deals I found through the years on Amazon... all of them brand new purchases:
BCD325P2 -March 2017 $281.92
BCD436HP -December 2016 $351.20
BCD996P2 -December 2015 $343.70
BCT15X -December 2015 $131.24

I know it has been a few years and these prices weren't typical but prices seem to be at an all-time high right now.

I also believe that there is currently some form of "price fixing" going on with these new higher prices across the board on Uniden scanners. Did Uniden perhaps give the dealers their "marching orders" regarding "mandatory minimum" pricing on all models? We know that has been the case, more or less, with the SDS100 and SDS200 since their introduction but pricing on other models has varied from dealer to dealer in the past.

For example, does anyone find it strange that the BCD325P2 handheld, which is a 9-year-old scanner design released in 2015, is currently selling for the same exact price of $449.99 (right down to the penny) at ALL 7 of the following scanner dealers? Or is it just a coincidence? Click the following links to see for yourself:

Now do groceries 😂🤣 my last $250 jaunt to the supermarket can serve as testimony. Price gouging is going on everywhere and no one is doing a damned thing about it.

I do recall the 325P2 being $250-$275 before 2020 happened, I had wished I bought one then. Came real close but didn't. Like everyone, I expected prices would come down with time instead of going the wrong way. $320 is about as good as we're probably going to do at this point

Actually, I'm starting to think between grocery stores and so forth scalpers are now scalping and price gouging thinking they can buy everything out and turn around and make a massive profit.

look at games like ps4,ps5, and Switch for example, the scalpers know a company may take 150,000 to 250,000 a run and scalpers suck it up within like a month and then jacks the prices from $59.99 to $99.99 or higher, I have been watching that for like 25 years I know scalpers are getting greedier by the day, lol

then the grocery stores i think are adding their price to it too, like saying oh well if Bob needs that he can pay what we want, i think every company is using that business model now to raise prices including scanners.

on a side note this is what my big brother complains about the age of the scanners.

uniden brings out 2 new models in 2024, their analog with nxdn, however the following is from or by the years

SDS 200 (2019) should be less money for a 5-year-old scanner, not $699.99

SDS 100 (2018) $649.99 same thing 6 years old

536 (2014)

436 (2014)

996p2 (2015)

325p2 (2015)

15x (2009)

355n (2012)

30c (2019)

75xlt (2013)

125at (2012)

so in my humble opinion, I think prices should go down based on how many years it has been, there is always new tech coming out so why are they fixed on these current prices?

look at the 160 and 260, there new with NXDN but are they really worth the price tag? I personally say its worth what you decide to pay for it, so to be its worth it but I think we should see better and new scanners.

my big adoptive brother thinks years and years of the same models with no new tech prices should come down as it hasn't been updated in years

There's no other scanner that can deal with simulcast, so there's no competition to drive down Uniden's pricing. You can use an SDR or a Unication, but neither of those are a standalone scanner with a database.

again I think the main thing my brother is complaining about is the age or when they started using the scanners by the age it has been done, new tech should drive the other tech like the older scanners down in price, I think that is what he thinks, I could care less as I will give my money freely to whatever I want to get.

but since simulcast isn't a problem currently where I am at I will just say I do think the current prices for some of the p2 trunking scanners are way higher than they used to be for the age they were made or developed

I can understand the SDS models retaining their value given the demand for simulcast-capable scanners and them being the only game in town so-to-speak. Plus they're the newest models until the railfan models are released later this year which are geared to an entirely different crowd. That said, I'm disappointed that the 436/536 hasn't come down in price being that they're 10 years old now and have been superseded by the SDS models. Same with the 325P2/996P2.
