Uniden SDS200 - Ray County Public Safety

Hello, I am an extreme novice to this hobby and just purchased the Uniden SDS200.

I am in the 64024 zip and am trying to pick up the "Ray County Public Safety" channel, that I am able to pickup on darn near every streaming app on my phone and I am struggling to do so. I have programmed everything I can find via the Sentinel software that pertains to Ray County, but it's still not matching up with what I'm getting on the phone.

Does anyone have any pointers or could provide any assistance? I know I went big with my first scanner purchase but I fear I might be in over my head.

I am assuming you have programmed MOSWIN system? I’ll guess you programmed the talkgroups that are of interest to you but not any sites to actually scan for traffic from these talkgroups.

Did you double check that the service types are turned on? By default new SDS200 radios only have 2 turned on.

Yes, they are turned on by the channels I added. I also made sure to set them on my default in my profile.

I live in Ray county. I haven't imported a site, so-to-speak. Only programmed in what's in the Sentinel software

To scan a trunked system you need at least one talkgroup and one site. Sentinel allows you to to program both of these things into a favorites list. Not sure what you mean by “custom”.

I just meant that I hadn't gone in and changed any other settings for anything.

my son had an app running that was a full 5 minutes behind what my scanner had.
different state than yours, but could it be that simple ?
it can also be that the app has more running than your radio.

see if you can't post the sentinel info as described above in post #3. I'm sure someone will be able to get the ray county site in there.

Looks like you are missing the site. You have the talkgroups programmed in correctly, but the scanner needs at least one site to work. In your case, you would need the Richmond 700 site. When you import from the database, it pulls in all the sites, and then you can delete all of them except for Richmond 700. OR, you can go into the favorite you already created, click on the Sites tab and add the site manually.

Thank you! That was it! I think I've figured it out now! In order to match what is on the stream, I also had to add Lafayette, Clinton, And Troop A. Thanks for the assistance everyone!
