Uniden vs GRE Comparison

Thanks for everyone’s input. I purchased the Uniden 996XT. It looks like I have enough scanners to last me quite some time. Now that I have my ideal setup, I bet the Public Safety agencies in my area will now move to encryption or for non P25 systems, do most of their work from the CAD terminals. Oh well, that the world of technology.

Make sure you update the firmware so you have RID/UID capability:

I have both the GRE PSR-600 an the Uniden 996XT in my F-150. Both work great in the Bay Area. I do like 996XT a little better when I am in San Francisco, I have to disconect my antenna from the 600 when I am in the City it overloads so bad even with the Global and ATT on. When I ditch the antenna works great. The radio id feature seems to work a little better with the Uniden radios 396XT/996XT/346XT.
