Luke,
Where are you getting all the info for TGs if they are not on the RR database?

Man, I must really be behind the times. I have no computer and no software. I am on a T-mobile Sidekick and don't have the ability to run any sort of program for actual radio IDs. Just had surgury and can't do anything but gimp around the house and be at the mercy of TGs I see on the 396 display. I kinda feel like the info I have to give is old hat. Sorry if I am covering old stuff! I will say you guys are doing an awesome job though! Keep it up!

I couldn't disagree with you more!

Any one of us, including yourself, could run across new information about this very large system. The more "investigators" the better

You keep it up also

Well Luke, I appreciate the positve comments and as for me, it is after all, the "thrill of the chase" as they say. I certainly don't want to waste people's time with redundancy. But I do have a good time just kicking back and reading the posts! So keep it up and I will be "monitoring". Thanks for the help!

Got that part but Luke was (I think) talking about actual radio serial numbers to help identify what agency that particular radio was assigned to. Am I on the right track? Also as I type this, tg 107 (north metro drug taskforce) is on and talking about 120th. Maybe thornton?

The software used is pro96com , only works with pro96/pro2096 and 9600 baud radio systems like colorado's DTRS . cool program , and yes some like 0107 dont make the list in the database

Ok, just for clarification: in post # 21, Jim had mentioned radio 16052 and in post #25 Jim had also mentioned radio 129035. In post # 39, Luke had mentioned radio 16059. This is the info that I don't have access to by way of software. I asume you are using this info for clues as to what radios belong to what talk groups. (Now I think I'm even confused! ;) After reading George's post, I see that I am screwed if I am running a bcd396t. So the software isn't compatable with uniden I take it? But that's a whole other chat thread. Having said that, I regret not being at the latest scanner meet but had surgury just four days prior so ANY info you can pass along my way is much appreciated and thank you ALL very much for helping this newbie out!!!!!!

Yes you have it pretty well straight and remember this thread is detective work the known id's are already listed, except for a few like 0107 which is better off to keep private for the sake of the officers.

We (Luke and I) maintain a very fluid list of about 3 pages of id's which we have logged and heard voice traffic on but have been unable to identify the agency so far, but guess what that comes with time and often it can be narrowed now using the radio serial numbers which are associating with that id.

Hopefully that makes sense and yes your help is welcome 396t or not. You'll notice we have lots of readers but very few worker be's..

I don't mind being a worker bee at all. In fact, I would rather contribute than just listening in. Problem is you guys seem to be about four steps ahead of me in that department but I will give what I have. As far as keeping tgs like ones mentioned above private, I totally understand and you're right, those should be kept to one's self. I am sorry if I ruffled any feathers.
I live in Pueblo West but am staying here in north Denver at my girlfriend's house while recovering from surgury. Point being is there's not much to listen to down there. Pueblo city and county will probably be the last agencies in the state to go to the DTRS. Lots of stuff to listen to here! I will be moving here after the 1st of the year so I'm trying to get a jump on tg IDs as well for metro Den.
Anyway, thanks again and I will give you info as it comes my way.

Actually, you might be in a good position to monitor some of this unknown traffic since you are in an area outside that which most of us are able to monitor.

You might also consider attending a meeting of Colorado scannists as a lot of information regarding how to track new TG's is to be found there. At the last one, I learned of two additional tools to help me do this and I am now learning how to use them, thanks to Jim and Luke. I've monitored some of the current unknown TG's, and am trying to create a program to assimilate all the logs into a single database so it is easy to see which radios have affiliated with which TG's. That might help figure us out what the unknowns are, assuming, of course, that those radios also affiliate with some that we do know about.

Good thinking Bob!!

I have been writing a program (well ok, pen and paper) to do the same thing. I have noticed that when a new TG's first hit, most of them have the same few radio ID's. I have come to the conclusion that these are maybe programmers' radios. Until the TG gets up and running with the actual radios, this is a little misleading. But I think if we could gather a good database, this could be very helpful.

I heard some DTRS agencies on 2288,2290 during the Network First test, could be these are designated TG's for the Network. I didn't have time to write them down, but was hearing "Red 1 Southwest", "Blue 1 Northeast" etc.

Pretty interesting to listen to on the Denver edacs, most of the DTRS radios were barely understandable. Same for the DTR, edacs radios sounded the same. So much for converting analog to digital and vice versa.

Mike-
Check out the new "Network First" thread started by Jim. Looks like Luke was quick with the pen and wrote down all the "red" and "blue" tg IDs you were hearing.

Got this one also- something about the "Vehicle Maintenance Shop". Pretty short recording however.

Also today-9028, a Morgan Co. radio

They're coming in faster than I can type this morning. Here is what I have so far-

0201-listed as La Junta PD is actually Otero Co SO-TAC
9008- Phillips County, sounds like SO
1787- I'm taking a chance here, but after some investigating, I think this could be a new South Metro TG
