I just found out from a FCCC Dispatcher that the City of Chattahoochee Hills (formally FC 800 mhz. TRS) is now being dispatched by Union City (VHF). This is both the Police and Fire Departments. I'm not sure if the Fire Department will retain the radio designation of "Engine 51". This started on January 1, 2013. Not another unhappy camper jumping ship!

UCPD/FD? Where are they now?

I am confused about Union City, I have their PD repeater (453.825) in my radios, but only hear what sounds like AVL- no voice traffic anymore. I know they narrowbanded, but where are they dispatching PD? FD? Their UHF license shows digital emission designators as well as analog, and I see several new frequencies. I don't hear anything on them from here (Smyrna).

Union City Radio System

Instead of waiting for the new Fulton County 800 MHz P25 System or joining the UASI System the City of Union City decided to switch to a UHF MotoTRBO System. This system will probably be expanded to cover Chattahoochee Hills too if it hasn't already.

TRBO, figured that. Guess I'll have to load up the freqs in my XPR6500 (RX only of course) and play "guess the color code/time slot" and see if I can hear them. Of course if they are using encryption, I'm SOL.
