Looks like the UP Express, running between Union Station and Toronto Pearson, is using both conventional AAR channels (i.e. CN mainline on 161.415) and the GO/Metrolinx UHF trunked system. Like the GO trains, the UP Express cars are using the same number for the train car and the radio ID. In the last 24 hours I've logged 1006, 1010 and 1011 on talkgroups 201 (Dispatch) and 203 (Lakeshore West).

Scheduled to start running in the spring. I ride the Milton GO on occasion and there's still a ton of work to be done at the new/reconfigured Bloor Station.

We will have to see when they will activate these two frequencies:

It runs for the most part on what was once known as CN Weston subdivision but Metrolinx bought it from CN and have done a lot of upgrades in the way of extra track lines and signal to what was once a "one at a time" directional line.
I am three kilometres north of the line and will now start paying more attention to rail traffic.

Those two frequencies are AAR 16 and 30, which aren't used by either CN or CP in this region.

Also, UP fleet numbers 1007 and 1009 showed up today, again on the same talkgroups as the others.

Might want to give a listen now.

I've heard what sounds like a patch on talkgroup 701 on the Metrolinx system and the train mentioned that the UHF radio wasn't working. I suspect these might be active with a patch to the trunking system.

I knew I should have called in sick today.

Best I can do is after 6pm tonight. If anyone else is in the position to monitor, it sounds like now would be a good time. With them running every fifteen minutes starting tomorrow, there will be more opportunity.
