Unitrunker & Channels

I am curious if there is a problem with Unitrunker or if this is an issue due to the system upgrade thats going on right now or if it is something else, but Unitrunker is only listing 18 of 28 channels in the MECA system 1. My guess is it's a problem with the system upgrade, but 10 missing channels is odd.

I would suspect the system is only announcing 18 channels in that case. What type of system is it? Is it possible that the other 10 channels are a separate site, or used as backups? I know that of the 18 frequencies licensed/associated to a certain site near me, 1 is only used for CWID, and four are for future expansion - leaving only 13 in use currently (including the control channel) - I manually put the other freqs in the UT DB, but they never get any hits.

It's a Motorola Smartnet Omnilink, it used to show all 28 active which is why I think it's an issue from the Astro 25 upgrade and rebanding. 3 of the present frequencies only have 1 hit all weekend and one has just 3. 3 channels are showing up as CC's.
I know these channels are not on a seperate system as they already have a second system for public works etc.

Remember, other than the announced alt CCh (and of course the active CCh), the only time a channel shows up in UniTrunker (or Trunker) is when a voice grant is issued for that channel. I am sure that the missing frequencies are as a result of the Astro upgrade. With the added site there may have been a budget concern on buying all those new Quantars.

There is no budget issues, it's fully funded, alas at the expense of pay raises and a hiring freeze for both police and fire... but it's paid for now. As for the radios, all or most of the 6,000 new radios were paid for by the taxpayers and 1/2 million the Feds gave them. Total system cost was $37 million and includes 5 NEW towers, one transmit location moved to ISP 51 tower and 5 towers with all new gear and cables.
The channels seem to change daily right now with all the testing, the latest had 26 frequencies. Signal quality is better, at least on most of the channels. They may be switching things over ahead of the last expected date was January, but it appears now it may be well ahead of that time, partly thanks to the warm dry weather.

Okay, this clearly belongs in the Indiana forum at this point, but why would they put a transmit location at ISP 51, in Pendleton, in Madison County, well outside of Marion County and the intended coverage area of the simulcast system?

lol, actually it should say ISP 52....oh well.
And the original post was indeed a question about whether there was a problem with this layest version or something else, I just responded to Lou's comments.

If you have access to a DOS computer, try TRUNK88 and see if that reports the same thing. It is Motorola only. You can get more info on adjacent sites and more messages with it as well. The downside is that you need to spend time setting it up in terms of Frequency window size etc. There are things that I prefer on TRUNK88 over Unitrunker and vice-versa.

Funny you mention that because I downloaded it last night (trunker88) and forgot about it. The problem is I don't know exactly what channels will be used as the systems being rebuilt from top to bottom and they keep changing the frequencies daily so adding the frequencies myself won't work....hmmm. I'll give it a shot though and check it out, it certainly won't hurt anything.
