Unitrunker Demo

I have been using Unitrunker for a while now, and now seeing the interest in the forum, I would be willing to set up a demonstration for any who are interested. It could/would be this Friday or Saturday. Somewhere in the valley. I was looking at maybe Sugarhouse Park. I don't know if there is an interest in seeing a live demo, and/or where would be the least inconvienent location for those interested to attend.

I have to admit that the discussions in the Utah Forum this week has peaked my interest. I would like to see a demo but I am not sure I can make it. It is not that I don't want to, it is because I have medical issues and the air quality lately has not been my friend.

I live just off of 5600 West and 5400 South, so a smaller park closer in would be more convenient if one could be located, but it is not a requirement. I believe there is a small park near where Utah Viper lives. Just a thought.

Post the date, time, and exact location and I will *try* my best. Thanks for the offer.

Hey Guys,
I might even make an appearance depending on what business obligations come up. I'll have to get or borrow a 12v adaptor for my decoder radio to use it mobile since it is a base....

If someone knows of a "park" on the West side that has covered picnic tables, I'm willing to bring my setup there Saturday Morning. Otherwise I'll set up at Sugarhouse Park this Saturday around 10:30~11:00. I'll be there for a couple of hours. I need to check and see what pavillion will be open and post it here. Normally I just use my front seat, but that can get crowded.
Dave, I'll have 12VDC hook-up with me, if that's what you will need. Most of my stuff has their own battery packs, but I will have a back-up.

It has been ages since I was in Sugar House Park. I can't even remember where the pavilions are. Hopefully you can get one near a parking area because I don't move too well and there is going to be a lot of radio equipment there too.

I will volunteer to bring a 50' electrical cord and I have a rectifier box to change AC to DC which has one cigarette-lighter plug in it. I will also bring that. I think I have a power strip around here somewhere and that would give us some more power access IF we can find an electrical outlet in the pavilion.

Dave I hope that you can make it. Will you be here Saturday still? do you have transportation? Your visit has set this forum on fire and got us all excited!

Now don't everybody get too excited. All I'm setting up is a few radios, a laptop, and a mag mount antenna. I have Unitrunker and Scancat loaded on the laptop, and it is all 12VDC powered. It should be a nice basic "Live" demo of the software and what is in the airwaves.
Not to mention getting together.

I'll make it to SHP, Just let me know what pavilion. I do have transportation. I'll be bringing my laptop, a 396 and my UT radio which I need 12v for.

Sorry for this, but change of plans. I found out today that there are no open spots for tomorrow at SHP. I did find a place at West Valley City Park. They have one pavillion there and several tables under trees near-by. So I will be setting up at WVC park instead of SHP. I'll be there setting up around 09:30, and will stay till at least 11:00. I'll be set up near the pavillion, just look for the table with a laptop and antennas. I will have 12VDC available.

4500 W and 3500 S is the right place. Enter from 3500 S, and I should be on the left hand side near the pavilion.

It is too bad that more of our local scanner enthusiasts could not/did not attend the demo today. It was a very eye-opening event for me. Now, thanks to Dave and Gary, I need to get a copy of UniTrunker for my very own. Does it ever stop?

It was nice to meet some of the members of this forum. I think we all learned some things and the exchange of freqs and info was nice. Maybe we can get together again next month. Thanks to Dave for giving us the incentive to get together.
