Latecomer here... I just wanted to say thanks to rfmobile for making this great program. I had been using trunker and it worked really well.... I just hated the fact it had to be run from DOS and required a data slicer which never worked for me in WinXP.

I'm now using Unitrunker to monitor the Riverside EDACS and Orange County systems. It's found a load of talkgroups on the Riverside system that I never knew existed.

I concur on others suggesting a record ability. I think it would be awesome to be able to have the program record those unknown talkgroups and log them by TGID-TIME.wav

Thx again for this wonderful program.

Merry Christmas!

Holiday gift?

Hey Rick,
Any chance of releasing a holiday gift of a somewhat useable, almost complete, beta 2 of unitrunker? You will have a lot of people sitting around with a lot of spare time over the next couple of weeks for some extensive testing... :)

I'm working on that now. Need to update some documentation; run some tests and so forth.

Is it just me, or is there some sort of talkgroup ID bug. I'm trying to ID EDACS talkgroups 545 and 549 (and others that I can't recall off the top of my head) and for some strange reason Unitrunker won't hold/save the ID I put in upon editing. It does save all over ID's. I notice a "0" in place of the talkgroup when I first input the data, but I get rid of it before entering data.

Another thing I notice is that a cursor zips around the screen once I start decoding. Is this the program refreshing itself? Will this be corrected upon new release? At times, it seems to make the OS hang, and it does this on 2 different computers that I've tried it on.

I know it's been talked about in the thread, but will the new release have a DEC format for radio affiliations with an EDACS system?

I'll check into this. The program seems to run fine on an Athlon 650. I'm not sure how older, slower machines will fare. For the other items above, if this new version does not solve them then you may need a faster machine.

I've tried it on both 700MHz and 2.0GHz machines and still get the "text ID for talkgroups not saving" and the "zipping around the screen cursor"... I guess I'll try the new version and see.

I get the same thing with the cursor if I have only the program as a window and not expanded to the full screen.

I run it on an old IBM Thinkpad with a Pentium II 400 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM. This is a laptop that is dedicated to running an Icom IC-PCR1000. I use the discriminator tap of the 1000 for UniTrunker, which runs on the same computer, in conjunction with the computer control software for the 1000. When the program opened in a small window I had bizarre "scrolling" display results. When I open the program to full screen size (which still does not completely cover my 1024 x 768 screen, that problem disappears. I have no issues with zipping around the screen cursors and can save text ID's without a problem, so the program does work fine on an older computer for me, anyway.

Greatly looking forward to the next version. Thanks, Rick.
