So I'm trying to make this work with the local EDACS system, and I'm running into problems getting Unitrunker to actually do anything at all. I'm using the latest version of SDR# with a couple of RTL sticks, the latest trunking plugin, dsd160, and the latest version of Unitrunker.

Everything is seemingly set up correctly and I get a good signal. When I start Unitrunker sometimes the site window will pop up and it will track the system for anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, but it will always just stop doing doing anything after no more than a few minutes have elapsed.

When it does work for these brief moments, everything works, properly controlling SDR# and I get good audio through DSD. Then Unitrunker just ups and dies on me. Sometimes if I close and reopen it, it will work for another few seconds to a couple of minutes, but more often than not, it continues to do nothing.

Everything else in the chain seems to be working, I just can't get Unitrunker to do its part. With Unitrunker out of the loop, I can click around the waterfall in SDR# when I see transmissions and I get great audio through DSD, I just need Unitrunker to work.

The system I'm trying to track is Albuquerque / Bernalillo County Trunking System, Albuquerque, New Mexico - Scanner Frequencies

There's a bug reported for ProVoice and / or OpenSky detection. Please turn those off.

When the program seems to have gone deaf ...

Do you see a waveform in the scope tab?

Has the signal health dropped to zero?

Thank You! I've been going crazy trying to figure it out. I had Provoice enabled on both the control and signal channels. I had already turned everything else off as part of my troubleshooting. Turning it off on the control channel though would basically render this whole endeavour moot as Unitrunker could no longer detect ProVoice transmissions. As this whole system is basically ProVoice with a few uninteresting analog channels that I can already hear on my handheld, this wasn't an ideal solution. However, enabling Provoice on only the control channel seems to have cured my ills. It works great now with one instance of SDR# listening to the control channel and the other instance being successfully controlled by Unitrunker with the output going to DSD for my listening enjoyment.

There's a lot of confusion around that feature. The program decodes ProVoice call grants regardless of whether the ProVoice detection checkbox is checked. The purpose of ProVoice detection is to tell you that you've mistakenly tuned your signal receiver to a ProVoice voice channel.

When you're tuning up and down the dial in search of a control channel and you get a ProVoice hit - there's likely an EDACS control channel nearby.

To add more confusion ... there are two ProVoice checkboxes. I just described the one under the receiver's Decode section. Another, found under the receiver's Control section (for receivers supporting the voice role), tells the program it is okay to use that receiver to follow ProVoice calls.
