I am getting some very wierd talkgroups showing up on Salem County's trunked system using Unitrunker. They are not in the database, I did check to see if they were from the Bucks County system, and they don't show for there either. (Both systems use the same frequencies and are known to cause confusion on scanners in search mode) There is also no noticable voice activity when I am logging these other talkgroups. They are very high compared to the rest of the known tg's (ex 19xxx). Decode rate is approx 97%. Anyone with any ideas?
Thanks, Ryan

Hi Ryan;
What are the first + last seen timestamps and hit counts for these talkgroups?

Hey, are they coming P-25 digital, or are they coming in analog? Also, what scanner are you using? Are you using a Uniden BC396?

Most were first and last seen August 27th. Some were last seen October 4th (when I was running lastnight. Hit counts for them range from 2-111. Nothing I have seen when they come up indicated digital, they're just showing as the group at the top with no specific unit id.

Treat any data where the hit count is low (1 or 2 hits) and the first/last seen time stamps are the same (down to the second) - with some suspicion. If you're in an area where competing control channels (operating on the same frequency) fade in and out - you can expect to see this.

Go to [V]iew -> sers and check to see if any radios were affiliated to any on these mystery talkgroups. Someone may be flipping through channels (talkgroups) on their radio and briefly affiliate on a seldom used talkgroup.
