I have been running unitrunker for a while and I was running it on my gateway laptop which I upgraded to Vista 32 bit and everything ran great, then I went a bought a desktop computer with Vista 64 bit loaded unitrunker from my portable harddrive that I back up unitrunker up on and everything has been working great. Now my probem is when I save unitrunker to my portable harddrive I goto program files then save the whole Rfmobile folder like I have always done and I could put it on different computers if needed and all my unitrunker files would be up to date, will last night I saved unitrunker from my desktop and put it on my laptop that I haven't been using and it says I last used unitrunker on Jan 24, 2007. So my problem is how do I save unitrunker to my harddrive so it will keep all my latest changes and have the current date or what files shoud I save so when I do a system recovery I don't loose all the changes? What weird is that I dump Rfmobile on my portable harddrive a fewtimes a week as backup because I have lost everything before and I will keep my last 5 or 6 backups like this (Rfmobile 1-30-07) and when I loaded different ones to day on my desktop today nothng changes like I never even backed then up, so I have no clue whats going on. Any help? Thanks
-Jeff

I don't know how that date is destermined by Windows. After copying the files, you can use the file compare command ... "FC file1 file2" ... to compare two files to make sure they're identical.

When I go into the Rfmobile folder and goto the system rid file it shows everything from Jan 24, 2007 even though I have made many changes since then, so I need to figure out why its not updating
and saving all the changes I have made. I went on a different computer today with XP edited a few things in unitrunker dumped the Rfmobile folder onto my computer with Vista and nothing changed when viewing unitrunker but if you look at the system RID file I can see all the changes that I made, this makes no sence to me. When I try to change the system rid files on Vista it wont let save what I edit. Also I can erase all system programs and unitrunker will work fine, if you look at the pic below these are the only files in Rfmobile and unitrunker is running fine. Thanks

For what it's worth I just got a machine with Vista and found out the hard way that, if you don't run it in Administrator mode, you can't write to the Program Files/rfmobile directory. Another one of Vista's "security features". I lost several hours of good logging done a considerable distance away from home because of this.

Brave man. I plan on sticking with XP for at least another two years.

Two workarounds:

1. copy the Unitrunker folder to another folder outside the Program Files folder.

You will be running the program from this alternate folder. If so inclined, you can set up a short cut on your desktop to avoid using Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder everytime. Be sure to set the working folder in the shortcut to match.

2. add a Path entry to the configuration file. The allows the program files to remain under "Program Files" folder but places the data elsewhere. The downside is the configuration stays in the Program Files folder so it won't remember any changes.

Exit Unitrunker before doing this. Must be logged in with Administrator rights. Open Unitrunker.cfg file with a text editor like Notepad. Set the path to a valid, working directory outside of "Program Files". Save the file. Here's an example:

Unitrunker.cfg said:
Ver=3
1,2,0,0,1,1,1,0,1,1,BCD996T
1,0,1,96000,16,1,0
2,6,0,115200,8,1,0
0,1,99,1,0,0,0,2,122850000,0,4
Path=C:\Temp
Vol=11,Sql=12,ParkMod=AUTO,FollowMod=AUTO,IgnoreSync=0

Notice the line above in bold text. Copy all data files to the new working folder. "Temp" is just an example. You can name it whatever you like (and place it on any drive you like) but be sure to create the folder too.

How you can you tell data files from program files? The data files end with suffixes like "HZ", "SIT", "SYS", "PLN", "GID", and "RID".
