Confirming on DTRS? Because I have been logging Site 105 all day and have observed nothing even close to these TG's.

What radio ID's were associated with these phantom TG's?

Thanks Jim<

Yes - DTRS. Not using Pro96, so I don't have RIDs (just logging TG hits) Here's more...

15625
25352
22793
44296
50440
32520
44288
15632
25360

Is it possible these are dupes of lower numbered TGs? I got plenty (54) of TGs that have already been identified, in the log today as well.

Sorry guys - I dunno. Maybe I'll bring the 996 in and let them both log for a half day and see if I get bogus hits on the 796.

I do remember being in Wichita and listening to the Sedgewick Co. / Wichita TRS and hearing duplicate traffic on TGs that were much higher numerically than the published TGIDs. I assumed they were Simulcast at the time, but maybe its a bug in the 780/785/796?

Depending on how you are setup in the sound quality mode will yield interesting invalid ID's showing up in TG search with the Uniden 296/796.

To get into this mode hold down the "9" key while a digital voice transmission is occurring. The radio should go into the "sound qulty" menu. Hold down the "2" key until the number 2 is displayed to the left of "Low" on the display. Press "RSM" (resume) to go back to the regular radio mode. This should take care of the weird TG I.D.'s showing up.

I just picked up this scanner late last week, so I don't know how it was left. I will try that trick and see what happens.

Thanks!

It's possible that you may need to update the radio firmware and P25 card firmware if the method I mentioned does not allow mode "2" in the sound quality menu.

The original radio/p25 card firmware for this model had some interesting quirks with DTRS.

I did the upgrade this past weekend, so I was able to get to the setting OK. Thanks!

So, after about 4 hours today, no unusually high TGs. 10008 (JeffCo Schools) was the highest of the 78 unique TGIDs logged.

Sorry for the falses everyone
