I didn't find anything for Fort Polk in any of the LA Parishes near where it is located. I did do a search of the RR and about three years ago, there was a thread on Fort Polk with a long list of frequencies. All of them were in the 400 MHz range though. The interesting point of the system was it was EDACS.

OK, maybe a few more clues this morning... Strong tropo ducting east and northeast of Houston (as per the tropo ducting map). Hearing strong edacs VHF activity again on the following;
163.5625, 164.500, 165.0875, 163.375

comms discussed a "tow missile" among other things. Also mentioned a location; "carnish at the underpass". The spelling may or may not be correct, that's what it sounded like.

My guess at this point is Barksdale Air Force base in Bossier City, LA?? Would an Air Force Base have a tow missile? This is a ground launched weapon I believe.

I had a list from Trunkedradio.net that listed various EDACS systems used by the Armed Forces. I believe only the US Navy used EDACS and speciffically on Ships. I believe Carrier's had EDACS systems on board. I don't have that list anymore Maybe Lindsey has it floating around somewhere still. (Ha, floating .... funny)

Those frequencies look like USCS assignments and I vaguely remember in recent years some discussion of a un-identified Air Operations Base used by USCS in Texas. Just a thought!

Most of the USN Vessels I have confirmed as using Trunking are
a.) 380-400 Mhz
b.) 406-420 Mhz
c.) 452-470 Mhz [Yes, business and local Govt allocations]

I have not heard any [Port visits to Boston] using VHF

Sorry to resurrect this long deceased thread but I thought this might be of interest as it was mentioned in the thread. Not seeing any resolution to the question, I thought this might be of use in ruling in or out USN vessels as the source.........
