There is a tower being erected in the town of Barnsdall and i can not tell if it's for DPS or Cell . I know it's not for the PD or CO of Osage . It's 1/2 a block away from the city base antenna so how would i find out what it's for ? . I 've looked up granted from the FCC site and there isn't anything .

There is a 700 ft. tower looks to be about 6 miles NNW and a 300 ft about 3 miles SE; don't see any other current ASR's in the area.

Ok the 700 ft tower is suppose to be the Osage Co SO 911 tower and the other is a cell tower ...I've been looking up at the tower from my home and so far the installer's are bolting up the braces . But the bottom start's out fat then goes skinny as they build it . If it's for the DPS it'll have great coverage being on top of a hill . Maybe the state finally got fund's to install a trunked system up in central osage co but who know's ?

Well after thinking about this issue i think it'll be set up for the 800 trunking for OHP since there isn't anything up here in Osage Co for those guy's . Troop K uses that uhf relay in pawhuska and bartlesville uses vhf . So i'm thinking it'll be for OHP . Sure couldn't be a cell site there is 1 already in town

Well i happen to read the town's news paper and it was discussed ..It's for AT&T cell tower ..Come to find out some of the resident's are a bit upset seeing that tower . But the city is getting paid a monthly lease payment for the land .

AT&T has a self supporting 300 ft one next to Noble,OK's city hall that probably looks like yours.
Well most of the day i've noticed alot of cement truck's going up that hill . So i'm assuming the structure is coming together pretty quick . I'll have go by there and take peak at how much is left to do .

I suspect all of you are wrong - although AT&T may be the people that will rent space on the tower from the people actually building it, American Tower Corp. Looks like on top of a hill just to the west of
town, 12th street maybe?

American tower will own the tower as they own a bumch but the RF will be AT&T and anyone else American leases space to.

Exactly. American tower is one of the lumbering giants in the tower industry - and they own a bunch of towers. This is simply a build to suit tower they are building for AT&T Wireless and anyone else who wants to lease space.
Going to be more coming as Crossroads gets their spectrum sold at bankruptcy and someone builds
those channels out.

Most new towers require a building permit from the local public municipality to be posted at the site.
Is it that hard to walk up to the posted permit and read what is on the paper?
There also should be a posted notice sign with the tower registration number if it will go 200 feet or taller.
Take this tower registration number and look it up on the FCC ASR site.
Even a 5 year old can figure these simple things out. It's hard to beat them as Jeff Foxworthy proves.

Otherwise, while perhaps the 911 system leases space on that tower, it is not owned
by anyone other than KCD Towers LLC out of Bartlesville. Not Osage County 911.
Now, AT&T has no tower in Barnsdall. There is an American Tower site being built,
and I posted the actual FAA filing above - with coordinates putting it in the 11th or 12
th street area. ATC often leases space to AT&T.

Or one can pull the FAA filing, like I posted in message 10 in this thread, and clearly see that it is a tower under construction for American Tower Corp.
