So we will be staying overnight near Logan Airport and I see that Boston PD is encrypted now and it looks like I can monitor Boston FD and EMS on UHF conventional? It notes that Boston PD has some talk groups patched onto CoMIRS? It looks like lots of MSP on CoMIRS? Am I missing anything or any suggestions on other systems or frequencies to monitor PD, FD and EMS?

Boston PD is encrypted, but delayed feeds are available online. FD and EMS are UHF NFM. MSP (other than Troop F at Logan Airport) operates on the analog CoMIRS system.

There are 2 CoMIRS systems, one Motorola Type II and one P25. MSP (Besides Troop F) primarily uses the legacy Motorola Type II analog system.

Ok and it notes CoMIRS is Project 25 Phase II system and is analog or digital?
Analog - you want Site-05 - this is where the majority of the State Police (except the airport) operates

P25 - you want - likely the Massport/Logan Site (1-035) unless you want to try Cambridge (2-001)

If you are still around, try the three frequencies below from the analog site @ecps92 reference above. Not sure if they will work the same from your location.

The first two are Mass State Police Metro Boston Simulcast (lots of traffic), and the third is Central MA Simulcast. I am in the central part of the state and pick up frequent voice traffic on all three channels - using a Unication G5.

Just remember, Boston isn't that big. If you're at the airport, Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop, Everett, Malden, Medford and Somerville are actually physically closer than most of Boston and provide good listening as well.

Ok, I will check out all of those too, thanks.
And Boston Fire and EMS are conventional, with the TGs patched, so as such, the audio is better on the analog channels.

Two other suggestions not mentioned here:
You'll want to throw in Mass State Police, H-PTL-1 and Statewide. H-PTL-1 patrols the immediate Boston area and you'll hear some crazy stuff on there sometimes. Statewide is used by the Helicopter more than anything, and you'll hear it go to big calls sometimes throughout the Commonwealth.

The other one you want is BAPERN, our intercity radio system. Also conventional with patches to the trunk.
Specifically BAPERN 3 and 4 are going to give you probably the most traffic as well.
