Yes, they do.

Plus there was activity on the http://audio.liveatc.net:8012/shuttle

Also, the Parma Ohio scanner feed also had some audio of this on today as well. Not sure if it'll be on again, but it sounded great nice and clear signal when they were over the Indian Ocean just south of Australia.

Sorry - forgot the www (strange that their site doesn't recognize.) Anyways, right under the video NASA TV feed is a clearly labeled link for Audio only.

Well, they've had a long day so far. What are the chances they're sleeping? Although I've heard ISS stuff before at different times of the day and night.

But that is all there communications is it not between mission control and them. Whatever is going on is always on NASA TV is it not? Including communications. Next time they do a shuttle launch they should show what the crew is doing like with a live cam inside the **** pit while in launch mode.

I'd love to see the looks on there faces as they're lifting off into space.

And no offence taken.

On this mission I would take it that now is a good time to put 145.800 back in the scanner just in case something comes across again.

i couldnt sleep up there. i wonder, what time do they go by up there? yes all their comms are on nasa tv. but theres also the narrorator and prerecorded segmets. i watched from when the crew was boarding to like 30min into flight, and they did install a camera in the rear facing forward and im guessing that was recorded and we'll see it later. ive seen a recording of john glenn's shuttle launch years ago from inside the orbiter and wow was that interesting. the wierd thing is, when apollo flew, launches were like 6g's. the shuttle's are 3g's. also, if you wanna see something interesting, see the recording of the launch taken from that aircraft at 60,000 ft. that is interesting

If you go to NASA's page there is a very detailed list of the TV coverage, including wakeup/sleep cycles. There is no such thing as a shuttle comm link only unless you are physically plugged into one of the consoles at a NASA center. You'll have to take them with the NASA commentator on the TV links.

As the title of this thread deals with an "upcoming" launch that has already happened, it is being closed.

If anyone wants to start another thread about the flight, you are welcome to do so.
