How did you get them on the plane.
I remember the early 1980's bringing home 3 21 foot station masters tied to the truck pull sled.

Don't you mean Ilya?
I finished Dayton today and will fly home tomorrow. I didn't even see the Whistler booth so no pics with dudes at the new company, sorry. I was too busy with amazing deals in the flea market. Like a pair of DB420 antennas for $70 each and tons of other stuff for really good prices.
A friend drove in a large pickup truck so he hauls all our big stuff back. Heading to So Cal.How did you get them on the plane.

I was just getting back into using my psr-500 after 4-5 years of rare use (I bought it new from GRE just before Whistler bought out GRE). I decided to look at future proof to looking to upgrade to the TRX-1, and came across your post. I stumbled across the European company Moonraker, who has dropped the price on the trx-1 E to $369 U.S. Also the Whistler web site has the TRX-1 as sold out. I am worried about the purchase now. Any Ideas or rumors on the likely hood that the TRX-1 line could be shutting down and we would have similar problems with software upgrades and warranties as has happened to GRE products?

Postage is over $60 to US if you put one in your cart. That is not in USD, conversion rate puts it over $439.64 usd. Add in any customs fee's (whatever they call then) and postage, puts it higher. Here is their page: ( Radio Scanners & Receivers UK | Handheld & Base Units ). Got to figure all the costs, right? Also, that unit price will fluctuate with any change in the exchange rate, so figure that possibility in also. Good Luck!

I wasn't looking for overseas markets, I stumbled on it. It was listed in USD, but since it was in the European market, I didn't look further into it.I was just getting back into using my psr-500 after 4-5 years of rare use (I bought it new from GRE just before Whistler bought out GRE). I so wish that I had not sold off my psr-500. Among other attributes, the Spectrumsweeper sensitivity was great. The WS1040 is manufactured by The Whistler Group. It is operationally the same as the original GRE PSR-500, former Radio Shack Pro-651 and former Pro-106 and uses the same software and cables as all those models.
These scanners hit the market almost 20 years ago and were never intended to be upgraded. They are nothing like the newer scanners today.
Back to the TRX-1 we do not see any upgrade possibility for this scanner is now 9 years old and still does very good except in SIMULCAST areas some here say there TRX-1 works but location is everything. Also the price for the TRX-1 has seen a $200 increase from its release date with no new features.
