Which home? You do seem to get around. Three totally different areas.

Don't you mean Ilya?

I finished Dayton today and will fly home tomorrow. I didn't even see the Whistler booth so no pics with dudes at the new company, sorry. I was too busy with amazing deals in the flea market. Like a pair of DB420 antennas for $70 each and tons of other stuff for really good prices.

Well I just got the email this afternoon from zip with the bold headline.. Whistler is back or should I say back ordered, should be coming in the end of June. You can get on the list.

It's over 10 years since I bought a trx1 and unfortunately it was the year that my County went phase ll simulcast.. the price at zip is $629.99 right next to it they have the SDS 100 for $649.99.

Big decision for people to make, is it worth an extra $20 to have an SDR chip that will receive phase ll simulcast transmissions clearly without problems.

Not my concern, one of the radios sits on top of my desk and the other one sits inside of my desk but I'll never sell the trx1 even with its low mileage. We are encrypted everywhere in my area now on phase ll simulcast..

Zip expects to sell out fast so get your back order in.😉

Some news and updates from Whistler / Goliad Products

View attachment 179371
I was just getting back into using my psr-500 after 4-5 years of rare use (I bought it new from GRE just before Whistler bought out GRE). I decided to look at future proof to looking to upgrade to the TRX-1, and came across your post. I stumbled across the European company Moonraker, who has dropped the price on the trx-1 E to $369 U.S. Also the Whistler web site has the TRX-1 as sold out. I am worried about the purchase now. Any Ideas or rumors on the likely hood that the TRX-1 line could be shutting down and we would have similar problems with software upgrades and warranties as has happened to GRE products?

:cautious: That is not in USD, conversion rate puts it over $439.64 usd. Add in any customs fee's (whatever they call then) and postage, puts it higher. Here is their page: ( Radio Scanners & Receivers UK | Handheld & Base Units ). Got to figure all the costs, right? Also, that unit price will fluctuate with any change in the exchange rate, so figure that possibility in also. Good Luck! :cautious:

I wasn't looking for overseas markets, I stumbled on it. It was listed in USD, but since it was in the European market, I didn't look further into it.
I am just starting to do my research and since Goliad just took over, I want to be sure whether the TRX-1 is or isn't going to be dropped. This timing at my purchase of the PSR-500 just before the Whistler take over of GRE and now there is no software updating of this model. Luckily I took care of that way back when. My timing, though, is a little scary since this is the second time I want to get back in at a take over event. If my PSR needs doesn't work for my needs any longer, I will need to replace it with a new scanner and not with a software update.

The WS1040 is manufactured by The Whistler Group. It is operationally the same as the original GRE PSR-500, former Radio Shack Pro-651 and former Pro-106 and uses the same software and cables as all those models.
These scanners hit the market almost 20 years ago and were never intended to be upgraded. They are nothing like the newer scanners today.
Back to the TRX-1 we do not see any upgrade possibility for this scanner is now 9 years old and still does very good except in SIMULCAST areas some here say there TRX-1 works but location is everything. Also the price for the TRX-1 has seen a $200 increase from its release date with no new features.

I so wish that I had not sold off my psr-500. Among other attributes, the Spectrumsweeper sensitivity was great.
