I have no idea, but a couple of weeks ago I caught the dispatcher on 160.515 MHz, which is a main road channel here in Louisiana on NXDN, but it only happened one time. I don't know of a specific timetable for it, but it might be getting close. As for right now all UP operations here in Louisiana are analog.

I was on I 20 east of Sweetwater TX a couple of days ago and two MOW trucks running together were chit chatting on 160.260 NXDN for what it's worth.

Pretty much all of the radios deployed over the past several years are programmed for NXDN operation. The capability is certainly there, and there will be incidental use like that as people find places to "hide", and talk trying to avoid prying ears.

But widespread usage won't happen for a very long time and likely won't be before a federal mandate.
