So I bought some of those USB audio adapters that are all over eBay and I'm disappointed. There is a large amount of noise in them and I don't see how I can use them without getting hate mail from listeners. I tried direct connect and hub with no difference, the audio is terrible.

Is anyone using these with success, if so can you point me to your source so I can try another version? They are cheap enough to pursue this a bit more.

Thanks

$1 USB Sound Cards

I am using about 20 of them on 3 separate systems, plus a couple more here and there. They are far cleaner than any other sound card I've tested. I did get many bad cards. I had 3 bad cards out of the first 20 I purchased.

You may also have some USB conflict somewhere. I was fortunate to install some of these on a brand new computer that had nothing else loaded. When I tried to add some to an existing computer, which also has 4 internal PCI sound cards, I ran into issues.

What I do now is test each card individually on an offline system just to make sure it enumerates correctly and passes clean sound. Once all units have passed that test, I run as many together as I can (using a hub that will hold up to 5). I've found a couple of units that failed there. When they were plugged in, they affected other cards. Crazy to figure out otherwise. Once I have a set working, then I move them to their intended installation.

I paid $0.99 each for my cards with zero in shipping. I bought them from a seller in Hong Kong, and I no longer see him listed. This is one similar item. This is a similar item from Hong Kong, different seller. There are now a ton of sellers of these on eBay.

I bought the exact same ones (in green), I will wait until I have more time to test now that I i know they work for sure. I got audio out of them, but there was a 5 bar hiss that sounded like open squelch whenever there was no audio. Time to strip a machine and start from scratch I think, thanks.
