I re-plugged my sdr into a different usb port and it is no longer recognised by my computer.....in any usb port. I've restarted, put it back where it was all to no avail. What to do?

If it was a $3 RTL special from china it may have simply croaked. Did you flash the EEPROM right before this happened? I bricked two of mine trying to change the serial number - and now all they do when plugged in is give the "USB Malfunction" sound.
I did none of this. I simply un-plugged it. It is a noo-elec 22 dollar special from china.

What is listed in the DEVICE MANAGER for that USB port, when you place a USB device in it?

2.In Device Manager, uninstall the hardware.
3. Reboot, cold boot.
4.Reinstall the program software and the device--in the exact sequence that the instructions call for.
Sometimes the USB device must be present before software is installed, sometimes it must NOT be present until after the software is installed.
5.After everything is reinstalled, reboot.
And don't expect it to work on more than one USB port. The way windows enumerates USB ports and devices, you need a separate installation for each one. Some software and hardware also can only be configured for COM1-COM4, or COM1-COM16, because it is old and poorly written. Windows assigns ports up to 255, so if the software documentation does say it supports that, you may also have to UNinstall other devices, so that this installation can take place on a lower number port. Windows will make installations on the lowest available port number first, regardless of how man are in use.
If it still doesn't work...possible hardware failure. But the configuration is both subtle and critical, and not widely explained.

That worked guys! cold booted, reinserted sdr, re run zadig, and bob's your uncle!!
