Is there a way to get into mass storage mode without having to turn the scanner off and on again?

Yes. a few ways. Reinserting the USB cable is one way. A couple of ways in ProScan. 1) Go to the Test & Extra tab then enter in MSM,nnn in the Protocol Command box then hit the Send button. Where nnn is the amount of seconds before rebooting to the Serial Port mode. MSM,0 puts the scanner in Mass Storage mode indefinite. 2) When doing a Scanner Read or Scanner Write, an option will appear "Send MSM Command To Scanner" Enter in the seconds to stay in Mass Storage mode. The amount of seconds has to be greater then the time it takes to load the full database (if optioned) and some states takes longer then others. Also depends on the size of the favorites lists.
