Anyone have the common UHF search and resuce freqs that the Coast Guard uses? I've got one or two, since I can now hear the HH65 departing from KJZI and Marine VHF ch8 clear as a bell, I want to listen in more closely.

BTW, I'm 12 miles from CG sector Charleston (SC).

E. City, NC is the main repair facitity for the CG fixed wing and helo's so I would see what UHF channels they use and program them in. they are a State away but you will hear units 500+ miles away at times because of their altitude. Try Air Sta Miami too...Big group (sector) there too.

When I lived in New York State, I was monitoring USCG on HF as well as VHF. I was listening to SAR ops over one of the Great Lakes, and they changed to 282.8 MHz AM. I have never heard activity (yet!) since I've moved to Florida, but I keep it in all three of my milair scanners.

Didn't the US Govt reserve the frequencies above 380 for land mobile military use in FM mode?

That's what I've read also, but according to the .pdf flight supplements that I've downloaded and read, 381.3 is the Command Post frequency for Eglin AFB and Tyndall AFB in the Florida Panhandle. I haven't caught any traffic on that frequency yet. I'm going to leave it programmed in until I read or hear differently.

You are correct, hence the new primary freqs listed in the Wiki link. I would therefore bet most of those 10 year old freqs aren't active anymore. I read on another forum (NJ, maybe?) that someone was hearing primary traffic on 345.0.

I hear traffic on 345.0 MHz here in South Florida from the Coast Guard Air Station. It is definitely active and being used in place of the old 381.8 MHz.
