So I thought this would be fairly simple but I'm having a hard time finding a clear answer. I'm designing a mobile radio setup for my vehicle; currently, I'm going to have 2 Kenwood VHF radios for both TX & RX. What device do I need to share 2 TX radios on the same frequency band, with 1 antenna? I've been reading about duplexers, but the ones I've seen have different bands on the 2 different RF ports. Also, is it even possible to have a scanner and 2 TX radios on the same antenna?

I'm almost wondering if it's simpler & cheaper to get separate NMO mounts for every freakin radio, but I really don't wanna drill 6+ holes.

Your best solution might be a dual band radio with dual display that can do 2 VHF frequencies at the same time. I have an HT that can do this and even has separate PTT buttons,

No easy way to do this. Get a seperate mount/ antenna for each and mount them (same band) as far from each other as possible on the vehicle.

Okay that's good to know, I'm working on taking measurements later this morning on the roof of my SUV for separation radii. My plan is to have 2 Kenwood 50 Watt VHF radios for ham and/or scanning as desired. I'm also gonna have a UHF (likely XPR 4550) for ham, plus a 900 MHz XTL 2500 for Ham (10-30 watts). Plus a few 7/800 NAS radios (1 antenna on a stridsberg multicoupler), plus a scanner for airband on a Larsen 5/8 wave antenna, and possibly another "general" scanner on a Larsen Triband. Eventually I might add an old Kenwood VHF radio for RX only, which would likely have to go on a second Stridsberg Multicoupler and get shared with the airband antenna.

In any event, I'm thinking I can put the 3 RX-only antennas fairly close together, and keep them separated from the 4 TX antennas as best I can.
