I'm probably posting on the wrong forum but here goes...
I just got a Radioddity QT40 (10 meter transceiver) It has a weather radio feature (receive only) but if connected to a computer you can program other VHF frequencies (videos mention fire dept, 2 meter HAM and others) The manual doesn't list the VHF freq range coverage. Does anyone know? I am interested in several between 144 to 174 mhz I already know how to connect it to a PC and program it.

You're in luck! From their website:

  1. Weather Channel with Alert and FM receiver 140-170MHz

Thank you so much! So it's FM... good to know.
I'm studying for my technician class licence (interested in 2 meter and 10 meter) so now I can monitor both. I assume most people use FM for 2-meter band. I'm currently working the 11 meter band (good old CB) AM and SSB

Happy to help! Good luck with the technician class test. No doubt you'll ace it. (y) There are digital modes in use on 2 meters, but you should find plenty of FM on simplex and repeaters.
