UVS-200 Antenna

How good does the uvs-200 receive for general scanning? Mainly vhf/uhf/700 & 800 MHz? I know it’s not listed to receive higher bands.

Its only designed for the 2m and 70cm amateur bands. Outside that it will degrade the further you get from the amateur bands. For example it will suck bad on VHF/UHF air and 700/800 and somewhat bad in the 160-174 and 470-512MHz public service bands.

If you want to cover everything from say VHF air, VHF/UHF public service, UHF air and 700/800 I think using at least two antennas is the only way to go. A basic Discone like a Diamond D-130 series then a gain type 700/800 antenna combined together with a diplexer. leave the amateur antennas for the amateur bands and maybe just a little outside.
