The FCC has no record of N2MWE applying for a new callsign. The FCC says N2MWE is still active.

As far as changing your RadioReference username, you may want to wait until the FCC actually issues you a new callsign.

I think so. I checked K2KOH and W2KOH. I also put in for my GMRS. Can't run out of things to do in retirement.
