Hi everyone. I live in New Zealand and am 72 yrs old. With my son we race a toyota in a low budget category. We have no sponsors and fund our racing entirely ourselves. Planning to compete in a 24 hr endurance event next weekend and I am exploring pit to car comms. We are required to monitor a “race radio” channel and the organisers supply a uhf recieve only unit. the frequency of the race radio is 455.168750 MHz (Analogue, Code 6B) I have been given 2 vertex vx-451 uhf radios and access to a private channel I was also given the cables and software for the radios and can read/write to them. I can monitor race radio as a priority and at the same time receive transmit on the private channel channel usind dual watch. Our entire racing budget would not cover the cost of a professional pit to car system but hoping someone with some knowledge could/might help us to make this work. the helmets are wired and miked and work, the radios came with a pit headset that works but my radio knowledge and understanding is ZERO. I have tried and errored to this point but cannot seem to be able to make the motorsport channel receive only and to transmit on that channel is obviously forbidden. Will some kind hearted experienced programmer PLEASE help
