Been playing in the shack experimenting on different antenna types. Has anybody ever made a "Sky wire loop antenna" for vhf? Plenty of info on HF versions, and their characteristics at various heights above ground, but close to none on the performance of a "loop" or its pattern (say maybe over 3 wl) above ground just hanging in free space. I built a 2 meter version that tuned beautifully. Made a 1/4 wave Q section of 75ohm coax to "feed" it (yes that makes it essentially a monoband) and cut some wire at the appropriate length, connected it up. I'm going for horizontal omni, at about 20ish feet up. Any ideas on it's radiation pattern?
