I recorded some interesting finds today(7/26) in Western NC between 1600-1730, some I need help identifying. Here is what I heard:
42.340 Illinois State Police District 6-Heard units should be on the lookout for a station wagon on I-74 East Milemarker 11 near Rock Island

33.900 York County,PA Shrewsbury Twp. Box 61-07 for some kind of fire, also logged a PL of 131.8 once

42.600 ????? some PD or Highway Patrol, unsure where. Did not log a PL but the dispatcher mentioned something about US Hwy 24 West and Route 9

33.860 ????? possibly another PA County fire dispatch. Only logged it down twice and it came up with a PL of 97.4

42.620 ?????? Mentioned Pike County SO

42.6 is likely Missouri Highway Patrol and since you mention Pike Co, 42.62 is definitely Missouri Highway Patrol.

42.60 (A, C and G Troops) and 42.62 (A, E, and F Troops) are also NCSHP frequencies.

On the contrary, I do not believe 42.62 is from MO. Pike County, MO is covered by Troop C, which to my knowledge does not use that frequency at all. The main frequency for the area Pike County MO is in would be 42.14.

It seems likely that your band opening was toward the northeast, so your catches would be in the same general direction (except for ISP).

If so, there is a Pike County in northeastern PA, although I don't know any of their frequencies.

33.86 is also used in Broome County, NY, in the Southern Tier and in the same general direction from you as Pike County, PA.

Just some hints, not saying that these are what you caught.

According to both the FCC ULS database, and the RadioReference database, there are no state agencies in Missouri on 42.60 or 42.62.

If the above troop reference is pertaining to the NCHP, they would be incorrect. 42.60 is used by Elizabethtown (Troop B), Raleigh (Troop C) and Newton (Troop F).

42.62 is used by Williamston (Troop A), Greensboro (Troop D) and Asheville (Troop G).
