Ok, I have an antenna amplifier along with an FM antenna outside. I have it plugged up to the power outlet, and the antenna hooked up to the amplifier.

I discovered something odd last night: I have a Sangean FM Radio that is NOT hooked up to the amplifier at all. All the radio has is a telescoping antenna. But I have oddly noticed that the antenna amplifier is improving the signal on this radio without being connected to it. The amplifier about 3-5 feet away from the radio (yet it still amplifies the signal without even being connected to the radio).

I know it's the amplifier thats causing it because when I unplug it, the radio goes back to static.

Could I get a possible explanation on this? Hope that isn't a dumb question; I am not very tech-savvy.

Coax does leak and you may be noticing the stronger signal after the amplifier leaking out. In older days, many of us used to monitor TV audio with scanners as the cable TV signal leaked out of its coax and we could receive that.
