Does anyone have a good idea for an organized way to program all of the control channels and alternate control channels for the whole state of NC Viper system.

I am using a Uniden BCD996P2 in a mobile and currently only have it set up for the control channels in my home and surrounding counties. This is fine until I take a road trip away from my area. Too many control channels all together may present a problem. I am thinking about using quick keys 0-99 and use 1 for each 100 counties in the state with a cheat sheet over the sun visor.

I am OK with the talkgroup part of the programming. Back in the day, 32 control channels would cover the state but no longer. Any suggestions of how you have set your mobile scanner to cover the state as you travel around would be appreciated. Thanks.

I put mine as my 2 "home" counties then the other 98 I put as seperate counties with 0 being your statewide stuff like shp and event channels. So each county and their tgid matched each other. The other way I did it was the same with the sites but 0 for all tgids. So what ever comes across the tower your on you'll hear

There are 241 sites and over 400 control channels across the state. When I had a scanner, I only programmed what I needed at the time, and if I wanted something else, I would add it on the fly. No way in heck am I going to put all of those sites in the scanner.

I agree, and disagree. I agree, in that, I don't travel around the state. But I disagree, because there are those that do travel around the state.

To a point yes that's why mine is programmed by county and not individual sites
