Does anyone know where the information came from for the most recent update to the Virginia Railroads DB page? Many of those frequencies are either incorrect, or not in use. Example - Brown Street Yard in Richmond hasn't existed for several decades...

A lot of the information was added by myself for the Norfolk and Portsmouth area. All verified by the NS radio shop on Redgate Ave by the senior radio technician who handed me a list they use pasted on wall at one of the repair benches

The Portsmouth frequencies were verified when I lived in Alexander's Corner in Portsmouth years ago. But I listen to them when I drive to the area to see my son and daughter in law who live there.

The Richmond information more than likely was discovered by Allen Cole who lives in the area and is a very active and knowledgeable scanner buff. He helped put together the Virginia ScannerMaster book a bunch of years ago. He is on Radioreference active in the Virginia Forum.

Trainman111, please submit a change request for any outdated information once you verify it. Or add any missing that you verify. Others will greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much

Much has changed in the railroad scene in VA, especially with NS changing frequencies all over the place.

I can confirm the NS Danville District is 160.905 Road / 160.515 Disp. I'm not sure about current information for the Washington District from Lynchburg to Manassas or the B Line from Manassas to Front Royal.

Will do! You certainly can't beat getting info for Hampton Roads from the radio shop itself. My post was more so referencing the Richmond area. There are a handful of frequencies in use around Acca that I have not been able to specifically identify users for, but some of those frequencies appear to have been pulled straight from FCC licenses and are not in use. If the weather isn't terrible this weekend, I'll try to swing up by Acca and/or Collier to weed out non-used frequencies and identify those that may have a generic description currently in the DB.

Sounds good, hopefully you will have good weather and have fun listening. A lot of frequencies I had posted weren't in the database when I looked (after I answered your message the other day). I submitted them to the database folks in Virginia to get re-added. All Tidewater frequencies. Hopefully they will be added in the next few days.
