We are coming to Portsmouth NH for a visit and would like to monitor PD, FD and EMS in the area. Any tips on who to monitor?
Also, we are flying into Logan and taking 95 North, any tips on monitoring on the way up? thanks

On the way up from Logan, you'll want to monitor the Mass State Police analog system.

In Portsmouth, you'll want to listen to Rockingham County fire, especially Seacoast Dispatch and Portsmouth itself.

You'll also want to listen to Rockingham County police, and Portsmouth PD

You'll likely want to listed to the NH State Police.

You're also going to be right on the border with Maine.

Well everything in the DB is accurate for your trip. A LOT of P25. Logan itself is in Suffolk County, MA., and if you are into Fire Buffing, it's hard to beat Boston fire. You'll be travelling through Essex County, MA., and into Rockingham County, NH. A lot of the area fire is dispatched on "Seacoast Fire" (154.1900 136.5, as I mentioned, in the DB). Portsmouth has their own frequencies. There is very little to no encryption there. Haverhill, which is just over the line from New Hampshire has encrypted police, so you won't hear them. You'll be too far from any of the larger city trunks, such as Manchester or Nashua. You'll be close enough to also hear York County in Maine. Another place to find frequencies is on Scan New England's wiki. ( Scan New England ). York County is also for the most part in the clear. (And in analog, to boot). Rockingham County NH PD is 95% P25. Essex County MA PD is 50/50 between analog and digital.
