Hello All,

I recently bought a uniden SDS100 and I’m trying to monitor Volusia County EDACS system from New Smyrna Beach. I programmed my scanner for New Smyrna Beach police, fire/EMS talk groups and I’m monitoring all 3 sites east west and Daytona but can’t seem to hear anything on the talkgroups. Also monitoring DeLand and the beach patrols and can’t hear anything on this System. Am I doing something wrong or is this the wrong system. Should I be monitoring the P25 system?

Thanks,
Sean

P25 not built out yet. I was just through there last week and its all analog with some AGIS (encrypted), check your settings again.

Sean,
You want to use Uniden's Sentinel software to update your SDS100 and then the East and West EDACS sites and TGs will be programmed correctly in your scanner. That software uses the database from here on RR and it is correct.

The Daytona site (located in Holly Hill) is no longer in service as an EDACS site for events and backup. Most of the frequencies are now in use as the second site in the still being built out P25 system. I'm only hearing Fire East and Fire West tone outs and dispatches on it now. The other P25 site is way down in Sanford and has the same fire traffic and occasionally some LE-4, EMS, and Fire Tac traffic. Both of these are also correct in the RR database so after updating you could listen to them if you are in range, but everything that's patched onto the P25 system you would hear on the EDACS system so I would stick with that unless you are just curious.

Short answer is EDACS is the right system, don't monitor the Daytona site for EDACS, and yes the problem is on your end.(sorry)
