• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Its funny when someone else knows more about a product than the so called factory reps.
I mean...but do they really? Take a look at my signature for example. End users and dealers aren't bound to maintain corporate information standards that employees are held to. For example, someone like @kd4efm may be openly allowed to discuss features, hardware country of origin, and speculate what could be added at a later date where I'm only allowed to say, if you have an issue contact support or if you have a volume need for a feature that is not currently available...let your sales rep know so they can mark it in their regular sales report as a loss or potential loss due the lack of the feature so there is a way for developmental needs to accurately be assessed.

More or less on the topic, does the newest version of Armada fix the issue with 1.36.24 that blocks a lot of fields in trunked systems? We're staying with 1.36.20 until that gets fixed. The state-wide system expects us to be able to edit those fields.
Which fields?

I haven't used Armada on trunking yet. Are there test system keys (at least P25) that will allow me to learn how Armada does things? Not looking to program a radio with it – just work on a codeplug before I have to make it work on a real system.

You can create a codeplug, but it will state at the bottom that you need an AKEY to write.

When EFJ came out with the new software that opened up the fields in trunked systems, a bunch of system owners complained, so they closed it again because of that. There is a way around the blocks if the system owner allows you to make changes, the system owner has to uncheck the "Use Strict System Key Rules" box for the System in the codeplugs and that should open things up again.

if this is unchecked, you should be able to make the minor adjustments.

E55 is a demo system and key I have, so no, this is not a LEGIT on the air system, it's bogus
unless someone wants to get fancy and use my key, then fair game.
