VX 8R problem

I have had my VX 8R for just over oneyear and I think there is a problem with the audio. The audio sounds very thin and weak at times. So i goes in and out sounding loud and then at times this high treble, weak sound. Anyone else having this problem or seeing it in someones radio? I'm sure this will mean the radio will be taking a trip to Yaesu.

Common problem with weather tight radios. It is caused by a pressure difference between the sealed interior of the radio and the external atmospheric pressure. A simple remedy is to open one of the rubber covers, i.e., protecting the charging jack to allow pressure equalization should solve the problem.
