Yaesu: Vx6 frequency

New ham here.So I bought a FT60 and downloaded chirp.Uploaded what I wanted with no problems.I recentley bought a VX 6(havent recieved programming cable yet) and I'm trying to manually put in 160.335 and 161.280 to listen to.It wont let me manually put it in.It automatically goes to 160.337s and 161.250 . It goes from 160.325 to 160.337s and 161.275 to 161.287s any idea why it wont let me listen to them? Thanks for any help.

Maybe you can go into the menu and change the "step" from like 7.5 to "5" .,

Chirp is not recommended on Yaesu radios. RT systems is is probably the best by far. VX6 Commander is also good and it used to free. You've spent good money on the radios and you should get good programming software too.

Yes, the step size is probably your problem.

Had problems with Chirp and went with VX6 commander. Works great thanks for the heads up.

I use 5Kh in all my Yaesu radios (and I have a bunch of them) as a matter of course and I've never had difficulties entering a frequency.

For programming, I recommend the RT Systems software and cables over everything else. Yeah, it will cost a bit but I've never heard of it bricking a radio. You certainly can't say that about Chirp. "You get what you pay for..."
