Wanted by the Hattiesburg Police Department

The Hattiesburg Police Department is requesting the assistance of the community in apprehending a suspect wanted in connection with a recent homicide.

Davarius Chauncey Thomas, 16, of Hattiesburg, is wanted on a charge of Murder in connection with the homicide that took place on January 27, 2006, on the 600 block of Katie Avenue. At around 7:00 p.m., officers responded to a residence at this location in reference to a drive-by shooting. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals outside of the residence had sustained gunshot wounds. One of the victims had been fatally wounded. Three suspects have already been apprehended in connection with this incident.

This investigation is continuing.

Thomas is a black male, 5'9" tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, and goes by Chauncy.

If anyone has information on the possible whereabouts of these individuals, please contact the Hattiesburg Police Department at 601-544-7900 or call Crime Stoppers at 601-582-STOP to receive cash for tips that lead to an arrest.

This is not private but public info that was posted, It was only posted to try and help in apprehending a suspect that is wanted in connection with a recent homicide. It was not posted to offend anyone but only help. Again I'm sorry if if offend anyone and I will think twice before I post such a thing again.

I also appreciate the post concerning the individual wanted by hattiesburg PD for homicide. I am a former TV news assignment editor from Jackson (MS)--I am a Private Investigator now who happened to be in H'burg on Saturday and Sunday on business. You don't ever know--you might just see this individual; or it could have been your folks he is accused of killing.

Looks like the original post contains any information you might hear on a scanner, see on the news, or read in a newspaper and by posting it here it has just given another avenue of disseminating vital information.

If he was to make it onto AMW, I believe it would be even more important for people to know what crime he had committed

Apprehended

Davarius Chauncey Thomas was apprehended at his home around 7 pm this afternoon by Hattiesburg Police. Chauncey is being held in the connection to homicide that took place on January 27, on the 600 block of Katie Avenue.
