Wanted Man Found with Drugs, Guns and a Police Scanner
APTOS CA - A man wanted on a misdemeanor warrant was caught with narcotics, drug paraphernalia, cash, scales, baggies, a police scanner, video surveillance, pills and two loaded handguns Saturday morning, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office reported.
Deputies went to a house on the 700 block of Seacliff Drive around 10 a.m. after getting information that James Burrows, 43, was living there. They found him staying in a shed in the backyard and reported that he had the drugs, guns and other items in the area where he was staying, according to the Sheriff's Office.
As deputies were arresting Burrows and searching the area, his cell phone reportedly rang about 10 times and he received text messages asking for morphine, speed and Vicodin, the Sheriff's Office reported.
He was arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine, marijuana and controlled substance for sale, intercepting public police radio communication to assist in the commission of a criminal act and for driving with a suspended license, according to jail records. Burrows was booked into County Jail then released on $11,000 bail.
